How to Start

A deep breath then one two three GO

Suspended in air before the stomach clenching feeling of falling hundreds of feet straight down towards the water. A scream torn from my throat. Woohoo!

Talk about a difficult start. It goes against all that is in us fighting to keep us safe.

Why is starting so hard to do? Here are 4 tips for starting:

  1. Be clear about why you are doing it
  2. Make yourself as safe as possible
  3. It helps to have support (or someone pushing you)
  4. Take a deep breath and go
